RCD held an agreement to organize a series of intellectual symposium and research activities in cooperation with French Ministry of Culture and the Arab World Institute in France. That is happened during a meeting held by Mr. Jacques Lang, former French Minister of Culture and leader of the ruling party of the newly elected President Emmanuel Macron, with the delegation of RCD traveling to the European Union countries. They Discussed the importance of developing a long-term vision to find radical solutions to the problems that Iraq suffers, Lang explained that the Republic of France is counting heavily on strengthening cultural and intellectual exchanges with Iraq as it plays a pivotal role among the countries of the region in confronting and eliminating the extremist ideology of ISIS. While Mr. Zaid Al-Talaqani, Chairman of RCD, confirmed the role that RCD plays as a think tank in fighting extremist thought by cultivating a culture of dialogue and bringing the views of the political parties together to ensure the continuation of the democratic experience in the country. In the end of the discussion, Dr. Mujib Al-Zahrani, Secretary General of the Arab World Institute in France, expressed his desire to organize a cultural program in cooperation with RCD to raise awareness about the archaeological sites in Iraq and the importance of preserving them.
