Iraq Track amid Regional and International Changes
A detailed presentation was provided by the former Iraqi ambassador in Washington, Mr. Luqman Al-Faili, regarding the Iraqi reality and the role of elites and intellectuals in the internal righteous construction as an introduction to influence our foreign policies. Al-Faili focused in his talk on the importance of the political understanding and perception of the international and regional changes to handle them in a way that serve the Iraqi national interest.

RCD Organizes a Dialogue Session about Political Thought in Iraq
Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD organized a discussion session entitled: "Political Thought Roots and its Influence on the Political Crisis in Iraq" at its headquarters in the holy city of Najaf on Sunday in November 11, 2018. The session was lectured by Dr. Nabil Yasin, an independent political analyst, and attended by an elite group of intellectuals, academics and scholars in the province.

Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD discusses the Cybercrime Law
Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue has held an integrated session “in person” in Al-Salam Hall at RCD’s headquarters in the holy city of Najaf, and “virtually” through ZOOM platform, under the title: "Cybercrime Law: a Legislative Necessity or a Restriction of Freedoms". Where Prof. Dr. Diaa Al-Asadi, Former Dean of Faculty of Law – University of Karbala, delivered a lecture tackled all that law issues, which is the theme of the session. He made a comparison between the need of law in general and the cybercrime or computer crime law in particular, clarifying that if we go over the law in force, we might have dissension and disagreement between specialists.

RCD Hosts the General Nasir Matar Al-Zubaidi in a Special Session to Discuss Iraqi National Security Strategy
At Al-Salam hall in the headquarters of al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) in the holy city of Najaf, a discussion session has held, entitled: “National Security in Iraq: Strategies and Development Mechanisms”, moderated by Dr. Aqeel Al-Khaqani, and attended by a group of security leaders and specialists in political and academic fields. During the session, the General Nasir Al-Zubaidi, Former Head of Iraqi Intelligence, delivered an important lecture that began with a brief historical overview about the political changes and the founding of Iraqi State from monarchy through the republic to the political process that started in 2003. He also pointed out to the role of the external factor, and the political regime change through military coup, and the potential of the current political system. Moreover, he said that what matters to us in this phase is the political cohesion and stability, as well as the necessity to avoid the process of sudden changes.

R.C.D Organizes a Panel Discussion Entitled: "Shiite Identity in Iraq: Meaning and Politics"
Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue held a panel discussion under the title “Shiite Identity in Iraq: Meaning and Politics”, at its headquarters in the holy city of Najaf on Thursday, March 1, 2019. During the panel, the independent politician and researcher at Doha Institute for Studies, Dr. Haider Saeed, has delivered a lecture tackled the origins of Shiism and its connection to political factors more than religious ones, as well as its regularity within a doctrinal framework and jurisprudential origins that distinguish it from other faiths, according to the researcher point of view. He also said that “Shia” name has witnessed profound changes, throughout the near centuries, towards the leadership of Twelver Imamite, and its unification as a band, with the demographic expansion. He added that the early formation of the Shiite identity as a collective bond goes back to the beginning of the modern age as a historically developed formulation of the modern system, and it collected the definitions and parallels in a political and social frame, and it is identified through matches and discrepancies in the fabric of other emerging identities.
