Dr. Abdul-Amir Zahid, Head of the Advisory Body, moderated the symposium at Sergio de Mello Hall, that was characterized by frankness and objectivity. During the symposium, Mr. Al-Fayad said that Iraq has an advanced position among the countries of the region in playing a vital role relating security. He added that the crises that have hit the country despite their bitterness and difficulty, have strengthened and entrenched the national unity.
Al-Fayad discussed the internal situation, saying that the political process is continuing from one phase to the next, and that some segments of the society focus on the negative aspects, which constitutes a psychological break-up factor that impairs the ability to change.
He pointed out that there are attempts of external conspiracy to break the will of Iraqis and spread the desperation of helplessness, confirming that Iraqi people always bet on victory, praising the importance of RCD and its pioneering role among research and dialogue centers in Iraq and the region. Al-Fayad stressed that all official and non-official state institutions should stand with the civil society centers and get benefit from them, particularly RCD, because it represents a prominent side of the country for the international community and it has an active and pioneering role.
