Mr. Nouri Kamel Al-Maliki, former PM and leader of the State of Law Coalition, met with Mr. Zaid Al-Talaqani, Chairman of RCD in Baghdad. The meeting was attended by Mr. Omar Al-Shaher, a member of RCD's Board of Directors, and Mr. Hassan Al-Hilali, Public Relations Officer, where the two parties discussed several issues concerning the current situation in the country. Al- Maliki stressed the need for activating and supporting the research centers that considered as an important factor in the construction process, praising at the same time the place occupied by RCD and the aspirations to be one of the most important think tanks in the region. Also, he expressed his desire to support the activities of RCD and its forums in terms of importance and qualitative presence. Al-Talaqani gave a summary about the seminars, meetings and the latest preparations for the Forum in Baghdad next September, which will witness a high international and local presence. He also emphasized the need for specialized elites to play a major role in setting the requirements and plans for the reconstruction process and building the state on a well-studied basis.
