Statement on the Iraqi Martyr's Day
Statement:
On the first day of Rajab, the anniversary of the Iraqi Martyr's Day, the Iraqis remember the epic of martyrdom and sacrifice for the homeland. During this day, we commemorate the martyrdom of Sayyed Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakim, who was died with hundreds of those who prayed in the courtyard of the shrine of Imam Ali (pbuh), where the terrorist did not take into account the sanctity of Muslim blood and sanctity of the holy place.
This tragic occasion is not limited to a single component. The martyr, Al-Hakim, was the defendant of all Iraqis in all forums for decades of political work, the best proof on that is the opposition conferences and other activities in which he always focused on national unity and away from sectarianism and assertion on the independence of the Iraqi decision. Hence, the targeting in the first acts of terrorism in Iraq came to eliminate that patriotic voice, and then to continue the crimes of terrorism and bombardments targeting all Iraqis throughout the country.
The commemoration of the Iraqi martyrs is a reminder of the spirit of devotion, dedication and self-sacrifice that they have carried out in order to achieve justice and to elevate the country to the status it deserves, to be a free and prosperous like other countries, and to live its people with prosperity and security, which cannot be achieved without social peace and political stability based on dialogue, and to work in a spirit of harmony and cooperation.
