The 6th session of RCD Forum 2019-Baghdad was held under the title: ”Reconstruction, Reform and Reconciliation”  in the presence of a large group of researchers and academics from more than twenty countries around the world. The session was moderated by Kameran Pilani from MERI Foundation.

During the session, Mr. Bangen Rekani, Minister of Construction, Housing and Municipalities, said that the ministry had not benefited anything from the money that offered by Kuwait Conference which was dedicated for reconstructing the liberated areas in Mosul,  adding that reconstructing these areas now is a complex process. The Spanish Ambassador, Hansi Escobar said that Iraq is one of the most important democracies in the region. While Dr. Mohammed, Chairman of the Supreme Commission for National Reconciliation, highlighted the importance of the role of the Reconciliation Committee in strengthen the social cohesion

Linda Robinson, a researcher at the US Rand Corporation, touched on the urgent humanitarian needs to provide protection and restore civilian life. Finally Dr. Hanan Al- Fatlawi, Head of Erada Movement, said that Iraq is not a poor country to beg from the international community, but the problem is in the fake projects and there is no real control over the institutions management.
