As part of its cultural activities, RCD recently published an Arabic translation of the book "Iraq: Political History from Independence to Occupation”, by Adeed Dawesh, a PhD from the University of London for Economics, and a member of the Political Science Department.

The book deals with the history of the Iraqi state from its establishment in 1921 in the wake of the Ottoman Empire’s collapse to the present day, and how the ruling Iraqi elites tried to unite the society ethnically and politically through the development of the rule of the state.

It also addresses means of strengthening the democratic institutions and the formulation of national identity, where the writer, who was born and grew up in Iraq, had presented a summary of this culturally rich and divided country since long time ago.

It is worth mentioning that RCD works on the translation and printing of a series of international publications in order to promote the cultural and intellectual process in Iraq.
