RCD opened its annual Forum with four research workshops at Al-Rashid Hotel, where several international research centers, specialists and academics from different world countries were participated. 

The first workshop dealt with "the Development of Police and Law Enforcement" in which Rand corporation presented a paper to develop the security system in Iraq. There was another workshop on "Climate Change and its Threat to Iraq" presented by a group of researchers, in which the Institute of East-West presented a plan on climate change.

The Forum witnessed the establishment of the third workshop entitled: "Legislative Reform in Iraq and the Law on Combating Domestic Violence and Social Protection Policy", in which the Rand Corporation presented a work plan on the table to discuss domestic violence and support the social protection policy.

The first day of the forum ended with the fourth workshop on "Reform in Higher Education", in which RCD presented a diagnostic and reform vision in collaboration with the Middle East Institute, which was discussed by the researchers to present a strategic plan of action to develop higher education in Iraq.

It is noteworthy that RCD Forum 2019-Baghdad will be held from 3-6 February, with the participation of officials and local and international academies from twenty countries around the world.
