RCD Forum 2019-Baghdad held the 2nd discussion  session in Baghdad after 2003, where the Iraqi, Saudi, Iranian, UAE and Palestinian delegations  met  in a public dialogue to discuss  the region's outstanding and important issues. The annual forum  is a proof of Iraq's ability to play its pivotal role in the region, which included:

1- Dr. Farhad Alaalddin, Advisor to the President of Iraq, (MOD)

2- Hussein Abdulhian, Special Assistant to the President of the Iranian Parliament for International Affairs

3 - Abdul Aziz bin Saqr, Head of the Gulf Research Center - Saudi Arabia

4- Dr. Ibtisam Al-Ketbi , Head of the Emirates Policy Center

5 - Mohammed Ashteah, Envoy of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

6 - Sheikh Sabah Al-Saadi, Head of the Parliamentary Reform Bloc

Within the activities of the first day of the Forum, Mr. Hussein Abdulhian said that we all know that the region would be able to reach solutions through dialogues and not to interfere in the affairs of other states, and the conflict must be stopped. For his part, Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Saqr said that the ideological groups threatens the principle of political stability of the countries of the region. The behavior of some countries is also a strategic threat to the stability of the region, he added.

For the first time after 2003, RCD forum was keen to ensure that the Palestinian issue be mentioned in its discussions, where Palestinian president's envoy, Mr. Ashteah, said that the Arabs should be unified and strong, stressing that the Palestinian issue is the core of the conflict in the region and will not be forgotten  by all Iraqis. After that, Dr. Ibtisam Al-Ketbi said that the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran is stronger than cooperation, but they avoid the war.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Saadi saied that the lack of confidence among the countries in the Middle East is wasting efforts and causing blood. The Iraqi issue took a part in the discussions that were frank and objective, as all the speakers stressed their keenness on Iraq's unity and centrality in the region and its leadership role in various Middle East and neighboring countries issues.

It is noteworthy that one of the goals of RCD Forum 2019, was the return of Iraq to practice its role in the region and the Arab world because of its great potential and influence in the trends of international politics, as it has a great role at all levels after years of absence, marginalization and wars.
