"A Modern Reading in Islamophobia" Discussed by RCD
Mr. Safih explained the nature of West's fear of Islam, which he described as "not limited to rulers and political leaders, but extended to intellectuals and philosophers, showing through his research that "the secret of this fear lies in the French Revolution". Mr. Safih pointed out that most of the principles presented by the French Revolution, which he described as "changing the face of history in general and not France in particular," were inspired by three Oriental religions: Islam, Christianity, and Mithraic. He stressed that West fears the Orient in general and not of Islam. In addition, many questions and deep interventions were raised between agreement and disagreement with what Mr. Abdul Ali Safih asked, while most of the attendees appreciated RCD for its contributions to enriching the intellectual and cultural field in society, demanding to organize other future programs within the same framework.
It is worth mentioning that RCD has organized earlier, in addition to its discussion with the political elites, a series of intellectual and cultural programs, which the RCD's research and development department organized its outcomes and provided it to the researchers and scholars in the fields related to these programs.
