RCD Publishes a Study about the Scenarios of Covid-19 Pandemic in Iraq
Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD has published a study about the prospects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Iraq under the title "COVID-19 Scenarios in Iraq: Outbreak, Vaccination, and Ending the Lockdown". The study was coauthored by Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, Excutive Director of RCD, Dr. Zeina Akram Abdul Latif, and Dr. Ziyad Tariq Hussein from the Central Statistical Organization CSO. The study indicated that Iraq faces an unprecedented crisis which resulted in serious consequences for the economy and the society due to the pandemic, addressing the developments of its spread, the public procedures to counter it, and the economic direct impacts that hit public life in general; in addition, the study contained scenarios of the outbreak, the risks of collapse that could occur in the public health care system, procuring vaccines, and several options to deal with the consequences of its outbreak. It is worth mentioning that this study came in the context of RCD's program to foster developmental plans and studies that are introduced by experts specializing in different scientific fields in order to promote ideas that adopt practical solutions for the new challenges in Iraq.
