Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has held a discussion session entitled “Political Experience between Opposition and Exercising Power”, lectured by His Eminence Sheikh Hamid Malaa, Head of General Authority for National Wisdom Movement. Where he talked, during the session, about the nature of Iraqi political situation and pointed out to the three factors that influence it; the first is the international, the second is the regional, and the third, which Malaa considered the most important, is the local one.

The lecturer clarified that Iraqi people had three options, either division, the non-state, or the option of a national state. Fortunately, Iraqis have stayed away – as he sees – from the division option, “and they are moving forward, after 2018, towards the option of the state.”

His Eminence Sheik Maala argues that the geographic features of Iraqi State were defined in 1923, however, the political identity has not been identified yet since that date, adding that, throughout the history of Iraq and since the founding of the state, the latter has witnessed many options; however, none of them has achieved a consensus.

Sheik Hamid Malaa emphasized that there are a lot of problems in Iraq, that need serious solutions, including corruption, unemployment and youth problems, all of which need time. Hw2edeowever, what matters is that the state goes in the right direction.
