RCD Organizes a Dialogue Session about Political Thought in Iraq
Dr. Nabil Yasin presented, at the beginning of the session, several ideas with which he tried to get to the roots of the current political crisis in Iraq, reviewing, in his presentation, a number of circumstances surrounding the Iraqi constitution. He also reviewed the historical experience of Islam apart from the religious concepts and belief. Dr. Yasin also addressed the so-called “Accumulated Cultural Crisis”, in which he talked about a number of phenomena that happened in Iraq after 2003, such as the uniformity of concepts of (Authority and State), (Ideology and Culture), and (Politics and Law) associating these phenomena with “strong cultural roots” as he described it.
During the session, some statements were expressed, that served to enrich the session content, as some attendees raised a number of questions and intellectual proposals, which will be adopted by the Development and Research Department at RCD in the outcomes paper of the session.
