During the last week, discussion was made on the political awareness level that the Member of Iraqi Parliament must have, and the level of positivity and resilience in dealing with the situations related to the field of parliament work, including the formation of the government by the biggest representative bloc, considering that the high awareness of the Member is one of the fundamental things that reflects the culture of the professional objection and the meaningful disagreement, away from the reactive behaviors and tense statements, as the democratic climates and the constitutional rights are the main guarantees and criterion that balance the process of expressing all the different opinions and convections inside and outside the parliament.

In addition, an important point was proposed, analyzing Iraq’s position within the American-Iranian disagreement, and the lack of evidence on the continued disagreement. Moreover, an emphasis was put on the necessity to avoid classifying the Iraqi statesmen under one of the two camps, whether the American or the Iranian.

Conclusions:

·         The government uses the pretext of external interferences to face the demonstrations, as if the Iraqi people are destined, for decades, not to protest or demand the simplest stripped rights.

·         The culture and political awareness of the Member is one of the things that cannot be measured, despite its importance in increasing the quality of the Parliament’s outputs aiming at serving the citizen.

·         The partisan quota is a danger that is equal to the external interferences, and it is the first cause that has led to frustrated demonstrations demanding the services and rights.

·         There are an invalid generalization that the Iraq politicians and senior officials are affiliated with external bodies, the most prominent of which are the USA and Iran.

·         There is no firm evidence on the continued disagreement between Iran and USA, as the states’ policies change quickly according to the changing interests and conditions.

Recommendations:

·         It is the government’s duty to be frank and honest in defining its mistakes, as a corrective mean to the improper steps taken.

·         Promoting the spirit of cooperation and the acceptance of the opinion of the other are some of the essential principles of the successful States’ administrations.  In this regard, RCD repeated its call for cooperation with all bodies to promote the culture of dialogue, serving the citizen and the homeland.

·         It is necessary to eliminate all kinds of partisan and sectarian quota in managing the state, which is the first step in fighting corruption.

·         Despite the difficult and critical conditions that Iraq is going through, there are honest politicians who can achieve the desired reform in the Iraqi State.

·         Iraq’s position must be neutral in all the disagreements and conflicts happening among the states, emphasizing the necessity to prevent the use of the Iraqi territories to fight another state.
