Statement of reminiscence

Today marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Mohammed Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons (Allah bless their souls). This anniversary, which passed 20 years ago, shows us the magnitude of the abhorrence and barbarism the buried saddam Baath regime had, where he assassinated a great leader and an accomplished author in studies and rhetoric domains that showed the great contempt of this regime and its arrogance, which did not take into account the sanctity of the city and the shedding of Muslim blood.

The martyr Al-Sadr devoted himself to serve the Iraqi people through his fight against dictatorship and tyranny in Iraq, so the masses gathered around him, as they found in his movement a hope to be saved from injustice and tyranny throughout the decades when the Baath regime ruled this country, but the hand of tyranny was faster extended to assassinate him leaving him to be a martyr in the hands of Allah.

We are in Iraq today recalling the testimony of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammed Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sadr, we are inspired by his biography (God bless his soul) remembering all the martyrs of Iraq, who sacrificed for its construction and pride, as we learn from them to maintain stances, maintain a national unity and to stay away from violence, to prevail the language of dialogue among all Iraqis of all groups and orientations, so that the nation will walk along the footsteps of these martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this land, to remain prosperous for all its components and citizens.

May Allah rest our master Al-Sadr and his two sons with His mercy, and may they find peace in His paradise.
