Statement of disapproval

Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD condemns and disapproves the abuse issued by the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a tweet, towards His Eminence Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr, which represents an abuse of all Iraqis, because of his eminence's important religious status and political symbolism to all Iraqi people with various and different orientations.

The transgression of national symbols and personalities does not help to build relations between neighboring countries, nor does it prepare for the strengthening of ties between them, as this would complicate the means of communication and cooperation at various levels between countries, especially since the Bahraini Foreign Minister made a statement about an Iraqi national symbol, which was a clear violation of the nature of the contexts and regulations of the political framework, undermining the reputation of the two countries seeking to develop relations among themselves within the framework of mutual openness between Iraq and its Arabic depth.

This abuse, which came from the diplomacy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is contrary to the simplest axioms of work and diplomatic performance between countries, and represents an abuse of Iraq and a blatant interference in its internal affairs, which iraqis reject in all their political orientations and ideological affiliations, it cannot be accepted at times when it is imperative to join forces among the people of the nation to surpass the dangers that beset them.

An official apology for this abuse, especially after Sayyid Al-Sadr response to the offense with kindness, is what is hoped from the Bahraini Foreign Minister, out of concern to provide an appropriate atmosphere to continue to strengthen Iraqi-Arab relationships, ties of cooperation in general and relations with the Gulf States in particular.
