As part of RCD goals to complete the Research Partnership with research centers over the world, enhance cooperation, and open channels of communication; Mr. Zaid Al-Talaqani, Chairman of RCD, and the accompanying delegation have met with officials of a number of centers and forums in several European capitals and cities. During the meetings, it was agreed to sign strategic partnership memorandums to establish specialized joint workshops and implement partnerships for the carrying out of surveys, studies and specialized researches for Iraq and the Middle East. The forums and research centers were also invited to attend RCD Security and Economy Forum. It was also agreed to increase the exchange of visits and openness towards closer relations to strengthen the partnership with several centers as follows:

 

1. Elcano Royal Institute, where it has been meeting with Mr. Haizam Amirah-Fernández, Senior Analyst at the Institute and Assistant Professor at the University of Empresa in the capital of Spain, Madrid.

 

2. Club De Madrid, meeting with Ruben Campos, program coordinator; Agustina Briano Zerbino, Outreach and Development Coordinator; and Alejandro Hita, Director of Communications, Madrid.

 

3. Barcelona Center for International Affairs CIDOB, meeting with Eduard Soler Coordinator of the Middle East and North Africa Program; and Eckart Woertz, Senior Research Fellow for Iraq, in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

 

4. The European Institute of the Mediterranean IEMED, meeting with Emmanuel Cohen-Hadria, Head of European Policy for the Mediterranean; as well as Lourdes Vidal, Editor-in-Chief of Afkar journal, and Head of the Arab and Mediterranean World Department at the IEMED, in Barcelona.

 

5. CEI International Affair, meeting with Anthony Millet, Director of the Center; and Helena Torroja, Director of the Academic Department; as well as Laura Mas, Vice President of the Department of Studies, Barcelona.

 

6. Italian Institute for International Policy Studies (ISPL), meeting with Antonio Villafranca, Research Coordinator and Assistant Director of the European and International Governance Center; Valeria Talbot, Assistant Director of the Middle East Center; and Annalisa Perteghella, Research Fellow Responsible for the office of Iran, in the Italian city of Milan.

 

7. Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAl), meeting with Andrea Dessi, Senior Fellow and Director of Articles; Silvia Colombo, Director of the Middle East and Mediterranean Program in the capital of Italy, Rome.

 

8. Community of Sant E'gidio, meeting with Andrea Trintini, and Paolo Impagliazzo in the capital of Italy, Rome.

 

It is worth mentioning that RCD is preparing for the establishment of RCD Security and Economy Forum in Baghdad, after months of the great success achieved by RCD Forum, Baghdad-2019, which was described as the most important event in Iraq and the region after 2003.
