Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Mammouri, Head of the Advisory Board at RCD, participates in a lecture entitled “ The Future of Human Rights under the Future Global Challenges in the Middle East and the World” via the electronic means in the third virtual international conference on “the Future of Peace and Human Rights in West Asia”, that held by the Foundation of Dialogue and Solidarity of Unified Nations in Iran in cooperation with different institutions and research centers.

 

The conference held with the participation of 21 speakers of 13 countries around the world, included Ms. Clare Daly, Member of European Parliament and Permanent Member of Committee of Justice and Home Affairs; prof. Alena Douhan, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Negative Impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures on the Enjoyment of Human Rights; Dr. Kadhum Gharib Abadi, Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary-General of Iran's High Council for Human Rights; Dr. Mohammed Al-Obaidi, Director of Human Rights Department at the Iraq’s Ministry of Justice; and Mr. Patrick Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of the British Guardian newspaper, and others.    

 

The axes of the conference focused on the peace and human rights issues, stressing on the West Asian region and the challenges that faces under the political, economic, and health crisis in the present time.
