RCD Forum 2022: The World is changing 

 Place: Al-Rasheed Hotel (Royal Tulip), Baghdad.

 Time: Monday 26 - Thursday 29/9 September 2022 (4 Days).

 

Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD is holding its fourth annual forum in a world that is witnessing dramatic developments and eventful episodes pregnant with changes that would reach the structure of the international system and threaten global and local powers, which became evident in light of the harms caused by successive crises in the areas of health, security, and economy. On the one hand, as soon as the world could regain its balance in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, it was struck by security developments in Europe, which was followed by unprecedented increase in the prices of food and energy, threatening value chains and food security around the world, in addition to its intertwined economic impacts.

On the other hand, the world witnessed in 2022 clear results of the climate change, and the first indications of a water crisis in Iraq and the region, in addition to the felt increase in temperature and the number of extreme climate episodes, especially dust storms. Therefore, these developments should be addressed carefully, and their ramifications and effects should be inspected in the whole world and especially in the Middle East, which witnessed developments that is similar in scale.

Simultaneously, the region still lives in some scale of disorder and instability, with the return of Taliban to rule Afghanistan after the retreat of the American forces, as well as the political crises in several Arab countries, such as Tunis, Libya, and Bahrain; which should be inspected carefully to discern its results and the regional and global attitudes towards them.

 

 

Locally, RCD Forum 2022 is held within the climate produced by the 2021 Iraqi elections, which gave birth to a new political map that made it more difficult to reach a political concord about a new cabinet. Additionally, the Forum almost coincides with the first anniversary of (Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership).

RCD Forum 2022 is expected to be attended by renowned figures from Iraq, the region, and the whole world, in addition to Iraqi high-level officials, ministers, executives, legislators, lawyers, diplomats, and high-ranking military and security officers. The Forum will host researchers, experts and academics from universities and institutes in Iraq, the region, and the whole world, in addition to local and global think tanks, as well as experts from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as figures from the private sector in Iraq, the Arab World, and the whole world.

 

Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD will hold its fourth annual forum under the motto (The World is changing) on (Monday 26 - Thursday 29 /9 September 2022) for (four days) in the Royal Tulip al-Rasheed Hotel, Baghdad. The formal inauguration is planned to be commenced on Monday 26 Sep. at 17:00, followed by private sessions for high-level officials and guests of honor.

 

 Objectives

- Introducing national and international initiatives regarding the discussed issues, by inducing participants to look objectively into national, regional, and global problems, giving priority to rationality and positive thinking in order to solve these problems.

- Thanks to its pivotal location, Iraq should be a place for constructive dialogue about global developments, with the possibility of being a place for hosting international forums and conferences that discuss these issues deeply and reach practical recommendations about them.

- Promoting scientific communication between elites and decision-makers in Iraq, the region, and the whole world, especially in universities, local and global NGOs, decision-makers, and visionaries.

- Enriching the discussion about political, societal, economic, ecological and security issues in the world, analyzing their ramifications, diagnosing their problems, and devising ways to tackle them positively.

-Exchanging ideas and promoting cooperation among regional and international think tanks in a way that empowers the communication that aims at reaching effective solutions for the contemporary problems in the whole world, in addition to developing visions and opinions that strengthen the relations between local and global institutions and public institutions.

RCD Forum 2022 Will be held in cooperation with many think tanks from Iraq, the Arab World, the Middle East, and the whole world, as has been the case in the previous forums. Financial sponsorship will be provided by economic, trade, and banking institutions from Iraq and the whole world, who are interested in the affairs of the Middle East. Additionally, several media agencies and outlets, from Iraq and elsewhere, will provide a complete coverage of the activities ,There will be an additional announcement about the institutions and figures that will participate in the Forum.

 

 RCD Forum 2022 will be held in the Royal Tulip al-Rasheed Hotel: Inauguration ceremonies and panel discussions will take place in (al-Zawraa Hall), and workshops in (The Northern Hall), (The Southern Hall), and (Baghdad Hall).

 

Forecasted Temperature during the four days of the forum (26-29 Sep. 2022) is about (34-36°c).
