5th RCD Forum 2024

<< Future of Mankind: Crises and Transformations >>

•Royal Tulip Al-Rasheed Hotel, Baghdad

•March 3-5, 2024 Sunday-Tuesday (3 Days).

The 5th RCD Forum is held under unprecedented transformations and exacerbated crises at the local, regional, and international levels. During this time, humanity is facing serious challenges that threaten the security of individuals, societies, and states. Political fluctuations and alarming social phenomena put the future of humanity to the test, even the very existence of humanity is at stake. New technologies, including artificial intelligence and excessive and inhuman globalization, impose various problems, including poverty, shrinking job opportunities, demographic changes, family breakdown, intellectual and identity disorders, difficult adaptation to climate change, depletion of resources and weak control over them, as well as the spread of violence, extremism, and rejection of the other, leading to isolation, alienation, and serious obstacles to sustainable development.

In light of all of those challenges, and out of keenness to provide a platform for a dialogue that discusses the various intertwined debates, Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue RCD is holding its 5th forum for three days on (March 3-5, 2024) at Royal Tulip Al-Rasheed Hotel, Baghdad.

Objectives

1.To envision the future of humanity in light of the explosion of scientific and technological discoveries and the acceleration of scientific progress, to enrich the discussions on the impacts of the artificial intelligence revolution, to draw attention to what these technologies can play in supporting good governance and facing societal challenges, and at the same time to be cautious of their sudden developments and negative impacts on the human status.

2.To review the political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental conditions that pose a serious challenge to humanity, and to emphasize the need for hard work to innovate real initiatives for the new problems facing it locally, regionally, and globally, such as cybercrime, espionage, and cyber conflict.

3.To follow the phenomenon of multipolarity in the new international system, and the possibility of conflicts and disturbing imbalances in the balance of international relations, which can negatively affect the situation, especially in the MENA region.

4.To emphasize the central role of Iraq as an actor in the solutions proposed to address regional and international problems, and to show the role of think tanks in engaging in the process of addressing tensions and providing outputs that deal with crises in a spirit of scientific solution.

5.To give a special attention to the prospects of the global economy, to allocate an appropriate space to the topic of human capital development, to present new and ambitious programs that aim to develop it, and to adopt qualitative initiatives to enhance training and develop skills and experience in a way that meets the requirements of the labor market and facilitates integration into it.
