RCD Discusses the Sustainability of the Iraqi Council of Representatives' Work

Mr. al-Amara reviewed the importance and centrality of the current 2005 Iraqi Constitution. He also provided a detailed account of the parliamentary experience as an inseparable part of the democratic experiment in Iraq. He stressed that citizen-building is a necessary prerequisite for building the state and its institutions. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to advance the democratic experience in general and parliamentary performance in particular by utilizing the Iraqi Parliamentarians Union, leveraging the experience and capabilities it possesses to enhance the legislative process. The guests enriched the session with interventions and questions on several topics, contributing numerous ideas to the discussion.
This discussion session takes place within the context of a series of meetings that the Al-Rafdain Center for Dialogue has consistently held to diagnose problems and propose solutions across all fields, particularly in the political, social, economic, and cultural spheres.
