Al-Rafdain Center for Dialogue (RCD) held a discussion session at its Al-Salam Hall in Najaf titled, "Strategies of Iraqi National Security: Capabilities and Opportunities." Retired Major General Dr. Imad Allo, Director of the Al-Etimad Center for Security and Strategic Studies, delivered a lecture on the topic. The session was attended by a number of government officials and academic and scientific elites from the governorate.

The session discussed several prominent issues, including:

·        Military policy, its formulation, and its most important elements.

·        Technological developments that have occurred in the security and military fields.

·        The method of formulating a security strategy as a component of the country's grand strategy.

The dialogue, moderated by Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Mamouri, Chairman of the Board of Advisors at the Center, addressed the most significant challenges facing the development of a comprehensive national security strategy for Iraq—one that can meet local, regional, and international challenges in light of continuous threats at various levels.
