Al-Rafdain Center for Dialogue (RCD) held a discussion session titled "The Role of Parliamentary Committees in Achieving Oversight and Legislative Reform." The event featured a lecture by MP Mohammed Anouz, a member of the Legal Committee of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. It was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mamouri, Vice Chairman of the Center's Board of Directors. The session took place at the Center's Al-Salam Hall and was attended by a distinguished elite group of specialists and those interested in political and legislative affairs.

The lecturer began by emphasizing the importance of the legislative authority in Iraq's federal parliamentary system. He also addressed, with notable candor, the mechanism for drafting and enacting laws within the prevailing political and social contexts. The speaker argued for the necessity of a vibrant party system to support and advance the democratic experience. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of a shared understanding between citizens and their representatives regarding their respective constitutional powers and responsibilities.

This discussion session is part of a series hosted by Al-Rafdain Center for Dialogue, aimed at raising political awareness, supporting the democratic experience, and fostering institutional building across all fields, particularly in the political, social, economic, and cultural spheres.
