Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) hosted His Excellency Mr. Cui Wei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Iraq, in a dialogue seminar titled, "Prospects for Iraqi-Chinese Relations Amidst International Changes." The event, held at the Center's Sérgio Vieira de Mello Hall in Najaf, was moderated by media personality Mohammed al-Momen and was attended by a distinguished group of academics, specialists, media professionals, and various segments of Iraqi society.

The Chinese Ambassador began by speaking on the past and future of Iraqi-Chinese relations after 2003, focusing on economic cooperation. He highlighted the significant presence of Chinese companies in Iraq across various sectors, especially in energy and electricity, noting that China constitutes Iraq's largest trading partner.

The Ambassador stated that China has established numerous projects in the electricity and renewable energy sectors, and that the Iraqi government can develop its various economic sectors, including energy. His Excellency also pointed to the importance and dimensions of the Belt and Road Initiative and what it signifies for Iraq.

This seminar is part of the series of periodic sessions hosted by Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD), aligning with its scientific and research activities and its mission to discuss the most significant political, economic, social, and cultural issues.
