Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) held a scholarly discussion seminar titled, "The Culture of Citizenship in the Arab World: Epistemological Approaches in Contemporary Intellectual Trends." The event, which took place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the RCD headquarters in Najaf, hosted a number of researchers and university professors, including the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Lebanon, Prof. Dr. Ghazi Kansou. The session was introduced by Prof. Dr. Asaad Kadhim Shabib, Chairman of the Board of Advisors.

The attendees discussed the concept and dimensions of a culture of citizenship, the challenges facing its realization in the Arab and Islamic world, and the means to address them. The conversation focused particularly on countries that face structural problems at the level of national integration, national identity, and state-building.

This discussion seminar is part of the interests of Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) in reconciling the viewpoints of social and political groups in countries suffering from political and societal instability, such as Iraq and Lebanon. It aligns with the Center's endeavor to entrench and realize the citizen-state.
