Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) held a discussion session titled, "Programs of Civil and Emerging Parties: Reading the Reality and Foreseeing the Future." The event hosted a panel of speakers, including:
1. Dr. Ali al-Rifai: Secretary-General of the Social Democratic Current.
2. Mr. Raid Fahmi: Secretary of the Iraqi Communist Party.
3. Judge Dr. Wael Abdul Latif: Judge and former minister.
4. Mr. Thulfiqar Hussein: Secretary-General of the Al-Madd Current.

The session, moderated by media personality Hussam al-Kaabi, took place at the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Hall in the Center's main headquarters in Najaf. It was attended by a large and diverse audience from various social and academic groups, as well as activists and those interested in political and civil affairs.

The session featured an important review of the trajectory of the youth-led civil social movement from 2003 to the present day. This was discussed in the context of successive governments, evolving political conditions, prevalent social phenomena, and the spread of corruption and poor services. The speakers highlighted the ascent of youth as a significant factor in the equation of change, particularly after 2019.

The lecturers also addressed several topics concerning civil and rising parties. They presented a crucial diagnosis of the most prominent problems and challenges that prevent the emergence of genuine civil parties capable of undertaking the responsibility of positive change. These challenges include the volatility of the electorate and the internal conflicts experienced by the rising civil current.

This discussion is part of a series of sessions held by Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue across all fields, especially the political, social, economic, and cultural. These events are part of the Center's endeavor to raise political and civil awareness, support the democratic experience, and build institutions.
