Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has announced the publication of a new book titled The Economic Importance of Constructing the Grand Al-Faw Port and Its Reflection on Sustainable Development in Iraq.

Authored by Prof. Dr. Hamida Shaker Al-Lami and Assist. Prof. Dr. Amjad Radhi Al-Zaidi, the book is part of RCD's continuous program to sponsor scientific literature that contributes to the strategic planning of the country's future.

The book reviews the strategic role played by the maritime transport sector in enhancing development, using the Grand Al-Faw Port project as a primary case study. It covers:

·        Sustainable Development: The close relationship between maritime transport and achieving development goals across various dimensions.

·        Comprehensive Impact: An analysis of the port's economic, social, and environmental impacts, and its role in stimulating urban and economic activity.

·        Green Ports: A call for the transition towards sustainable and eco-friendly port concepts.

The book is distinguished by its analytical reading based on specialized sources, including:

·        Construction Models: Monitoring the work of operating companies and the construction models employed at the port.

Economic Indicators: A detailed analysis of key economic performance indicators and the project's expected impact on Iraq's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
