As part of its ongoing cultural initiatives, Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has recently released an Arabic translation of the book Iraq: A Political History from Independence to Occupation. The author, Adeed Dawisha, holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and is a distinguished member of the academic community in the field of Political Science.

The book meticulously chronicles the history of the Iraqi state, from its inception in 1921 following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire to the present day. It examines how successive ruling elites in Iraq have endeavored to unify a politically volatile and ethnically diverse society through the development of state governance, the strengthening of democratic institutions, and the forging of a national identity. The author, born and raised in Iraq, offers a nuanced perspective on this culturally rich and historically complex nation.

It is noteworthy that Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) is committed to translating and printing a series of significant international publications. This endeavor is a core component of the Center's scholarly activities, aimed at enhancing and invigorating cultural and intellectual discourse.
