As part of its annual program, the Research and Development Department at Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has completed another significant publication, an Arabic translation of the book Waging Insurgent Warfare. The original work was published by Oxford University Press and authored by Seth G. Jones. Dr. Jones is the Director of the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a professor at Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

In this volume, the author examines the critical lessons derived from insurgent conflicts, spanning a range from the Viet Cong to the Islamic State. The book, organized into nine chapters, addresses topics related to the origins, strategies, and tactics of insurgencies. The analysis extends to the organizational structures of rebel movements and the dynamics of guerrilla warfare. Furthermore, the author gives due consideration to the role of media propaganda and external support in such conflicts. The final section of the book is dedicated to the subject of counterinsurgency and the ultimate defeat of rebellions.

The work has been translated into Arabic by Dr. Nasr Mohammed Ali, a Professor at the College of Political Science at Nahrain University in Baghdad.
