Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has recently published the Arabic translation of Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State, and the Global Jihadist Movement. Authored by Daniel Byman, a Professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University and Research Director at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy, and translated by Jaafar Badie Ba’ba’, the volume presents a granular exposition of the jihadist phenomenon as manifested by Al-Qaeda and the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Through a rigorous synthesis of data, historical records, and critical perspectives, the work elucidates the intellectual roots of terrorism and the genesis of "jihadist" operations, offering valuable insights into the organizations' ideological formation and logistical infrastructure.

Furthermore, the author analyzes pivotal historical junctures and specific operations that have shaped these groups' reputations, exploring the complex interplay of personal, strategic, ideological, and financial incentives that drove their emergence. Consequently, this monograph offers a comprehensive examination of terrorism in contemporary history, providing significant and practical recommendations for the field of counterterrorism.

It is noteworthy that Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has been dedicated for several years to the execution of its strategic program focused on the translation, authorship, publication, and distribution of works of high scholarly value. The Center remains committed to enriching Iraqi and Arab libraries with authoritative and reputable academic resources.
