Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has released the Arabic translation of Global Trends 2040: A More Contested World. Prepared by the United States National Intelligence Council for the review of incumbent US administrations, this pivotal report serves as a strategic barometer, delineating prospective conflict zones and analyzing the dominant geopolitical actors within them.

The significance of this document lies in its comprehensive assessment of the determinants poised to shape the trajectory of global events over the ensuing two decades. It rigorously examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic alongside structural forces such as demographics, environmental shifts, economic dynamics, and technological advancements. The text subsequently investigates emerging societal structures, assessing inherent tensions and instabilities, before culminating in an analysis of projected scenarios for the year 2040 and the requisite strategic frameworks.

Additionally, the report encompasses a diverse range of critical themes, including the resurgence of democracies, the dynamics of competitive coexistence, and the mobilization of power. Translated into Arabic by Simon Ahmed Al-Abbas and Ghaith Yousef Mahfoud, this publication constitutes a key component of the ongoing scholarly initiatives undertaken by the Research and Development Department at Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD).
