Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has announced the publication of a new book titled The Islamic Presence in Europe and Its Future: A Study in Light of Contemporary Orientalist Sources. Authored by Hiba Hussein Al-Rammahi, the book delves into one of the most debated topics in modern Western discourse.

The book posits that the presence of Muslims in Europe has long been a source of anxiety for Western thought. It examines how a significant number of Orientalists and European writers have approached this phenomenon, often with a confused or fearful narrative, sometimes characterizing it as the "Islamic Peril."

The volume is divided into three chapters that trace the trajectory of this relationship:

1.     Historical Roots: An exploration of the deep historical ties and conflicts between Europe and Islam.

2.     The 20th Century Context: Analyzing the Islamic presence in Europe during the 20th century and how it reshaped Orientalist literature.

3.     Future Projections: A forward-looking analysis of the future of Islam in Europe, focusing on Muslim population growth and geographic distribution.

This publication is part of RCD's ongoing commitment to printing and distributing high-quality, rigorous academic research. By supporting scientific, intellectual, and cultural efforts in the country, the Center aims to provide deep insights into global issues that impact the region.
