US Policy in the Middle East: Trump vs. Biden (2017–2024) — New RCD Publication

The volume was edited by Prof. Dr. Asaad Kadhim Shabib, Prof. Dr. Miqdam Abdul-Hassan Al-Fayadh, and Asst. Lect. Ammar Karim Hamid, with contributions from a group of researchers specializing in political affairs and international relations.
The book explores the partial and tactical disparities between the policies of Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden, while emphasizing the overarching stability of US strategic interests in the region.
· The Trump Era: Highlighted for its transactional approach and breaking of traditional rules of engagement.
· The Biden Era: The authors note that despite political differences, the Biden administration largely maintained the status quo established by Trump, avoiding fundamental changes to the policies inherited from the previous administration.
The study is divided into six chapters covering critical geopolitical files:
1. National Security: The evolution of National Security Strategies (NSS) under both administrations.
2. Iran: The complex and shifting dynamics of US-Iran relations.
3. The Gulf: US policies toward the Arab Gulf states, specifically Saudi Arabia.
4. Israel-Palestine: An analysis of the approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
5. Iraq: US policy toward Iraq following the territorial defeat of ISIS.
6. Key Allies: A study on the roles of Turkey and Egypt as principal allies serving US interests in the region.
This publication underscores RCD's ongoing effort to print and distribute high-quality research, studies, translations, and articles. The Center aims to support the scientific, intellectual, and cultural development of the country with professionalism and accuracy.
