A delegation led by Professor Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Mamouri, Deputy Executive Director for Research and Development Affairs at Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD), has participated in a symposium entitled, "The Competition Law and its Importance in Regulating the Commercial Sector and the Business Environment in Iraq." The event was held in the Warkaa Hall at the Guesthouse of the Prime Minister's Office, under the patronage of the Council for Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs and in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

Professor Al-Mamouri expressed the Center's interest in organizing similar activities to support the Council for Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs in its current and future endeavors. In turn, Dr. Ahmed Younis Qasim, Chairman of the Council, extended his gratitude and appreciation for the spirit of cooperation and sincere initiative demonstrated by the RCD delegation in service of the public interest. The symposium was attended by a host of academic, political, and economic figures, as well as representatives from relevant government departments and the private sector.

Deliberations centered on the establishment of specific measures to prevent unfair competition and the monopolization of goods, which can cause economic problems detrimental to Iraq's interests. Participants also discussed the articles of the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Law No. (14) of 2010. This legislation is recognized as a critical component for integrating Iraq into the global economic and commercial arena, particularly to market-oriented economic principles, international trade, and the requirements of the World Trade Organization.
