A delegation from Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has visited the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress as part of its tour of various institutions in Shanghai, China. The Center was represented by its Executive Director, Dr. Asaad Kadhim Shabib, and the Director of the Media Office, Mr. Wissam Rashid Al-Ghazi. The RCD delegation met with the Vice Chairperson of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and a number of the congress's committee chairs.

The meeting explored prospects for joint cooperation between think tanks and research institutions in Iraq, led by Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue, and their Chinese counterparts, including the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. A key focus of the discussion was the endeavor to transfer successful experiences across various domains, with particular emphasis on the study of successful developmental models and the methods for their practical application.

For his part, the Vice Chairperson of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress commended the experience of Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) as one of the most significant research and thought centers in Iraq. He praised its role in adopting advisory policies, producing scholarly studies, and convening international forums to benefit from successful global experiences.

This visit is situated within a broader framework of examining and learning from the experiences of Chinese institutions across multiple sectors. It represents an effort to capitalize on expertise and enhance prospects for cooperation in a manner that serves the developmental objectives and the roles assigned to research and thought centers in Iraq, thereby contributing to the resolution of challenges within the country.
