Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue (RCD) has officially received Her Excellency Alicia Rico, the Ambassador of Spain to Iraq. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Military Attaché and a number of senior embassy staff. They were formally welcomed by Dr. Asaad Kadhim Shabib, the Executive Director of RCD, and the Center's senior staff, for a visit aimed at enhancing cultural and intellectual cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on the most prominent activities accomplished by the Center, highlighting its vision as a civil platform that convenes political, academic, and cultural elites. The presentation also reviewed the Center's branches in Baghdad and the United Kingdom, alongside ongoing efforts to inaugurate a new branch in Egypt, in addition to its research partnerships with several international institutions.

For her part, the Ambassador expressed her interest in expanding the horizons of cooperation, noting the existence of an intellectual center in Spain dedicated to human dialogue. She also cited certain values advocated by Imam Ali and Imam Hussein (peace be upon them), such as justice and tolerance, considering them shared human values suitable for building sustainable cultural cooperation.

On the periphery of the main engagement, Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue organized a visit for Her Excellency, the Ambassador to the Provincial Council, where she met with its Chairman, Dr. Hussein Al-Issawi. This was followed by a visit to Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, where she met with the university's president, Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi.
