Among the events of RCD Forum 2019 – Baghdad, the second dialogue session has been held under the title: “Middle East: Quagmire of World Politics or Its Shining Beacon” with the participation of several states’ representatives, included: Mr. Hussain Abdullahian, Special Aide to the speaker of the Iranian Parliament on the International Affairs, Abdulaziz Bin Sager, Chairman of Gulf Research Center – Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ebtisam Al Ketbi, Chairperson of the Emirates Policy Centre, Mohammad Shtayyeh, Envoy of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Sabah Al-Saedi, President of the Parliamentary Reform Bloc.
 
The session has addressed several issues with complex political dimensions facing the region. The instability in the region and the confusion of final parameters between the key actors, the limits of their influence, their position, and the nature of their alliances have been among the issues discussed between the interlocutors. In addition, the identity crisis, state-building model and economic crises in the region’s countries have been discussed, along with the discussions about the Palestinian case, emphasizing that this a serious case and should not be compromised, calling for Arab peace initiative as a basis for the solution.
