Under the title of “Security and Economy of Iraq in P5 Perspective”, the eleventh session of RCD Forum 2019 – Baghdad has been held, during which the French ambassador to Iraq confirmed his country’s support to Iraq in its war against terrorism, commending the “balanced diplomacy” followed by Iraq, which helped defeating the extremist organization. He also emphasized that the most important need right now is stability, social cohesion and reconciliation to enable the IDPs to return their home.
 
Meanwhile, the charge d'affaires of the US Embassy in Baghdad said that the USA is trying hard to defend Iraq, seeking to help Iraq becomes strong and capable of defending itself. He added that America does not seek to have a permanent base in Iraq, nor it intends to use its territories to attack another state, stressing that the American army in Iraq does not do any activity without coordinating with Iraqi government. He also added that the relation with Iraq has improved and we can have a dialogue and say whatever we want to each other.
 
From his side, the European Union ambassador to Iraq said that the effect of ISIS is not limited only to Iraq, but also has an impact on Europe as well, and that the EU was among the first who supported the efforts aiming at providing stability in Iraq. He stressed that the reconstruction is about not only building bridges or activating urbanism, but also about human development.
