Secretary-General of the Iraqi Loyalty Movement at the 16th session of the RCD Forum 2019 - Baghdad.
In addition, Al-Zurfi spoke of the obstacles which he faced in his attempt to form a National Orientation, and he also clarified that the reason behind his compulsory resignation was a political motive, for there was a concern regarding the growing and expanding of the Loyalty Movement.
From another approach, “Al-Zurfi” asserted that the decision of choosing Abdul Mahdi was not within the framework of the constitution, but the vote on the subject took place to prevent chaos and void from spreading across the country, stressing that the political process had reached a stage of deadlock. Noting, at the same time, that the Council of Representatives went into deep monitoring of the government's performance.
On the issue of the presence of foreign forces in Iraq; Al-Zurfi emphasized the role of the government in determining the extent of its need for the presence of these forces, for it is the side that decides how to cope with them, stressing the need to think deeply and strategically in this matter, which does not need to be hastened regarding the decision of removal. However, there is a risk in taking this decision at the present time.
