Al-Rafdain Center for Dialogue (RCD) hosted Professor Dr. Hassan Abbas, an expert in security and development affairs from the National Defense University (NDU) in the United States (Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies). The scholarly and discussion-based seminar, held at the Center's Al-Salam Hall, was titled "Models of Good Governance: Lessons and Morals" and was attended by an elite group of academics and researchers from various segments of Iraqi society.

The event, a scholarly discussion entitled "Cultural Elites in the Arab World and the Dilemmas of Postmodernism," was held in the Al-Salam Hall at the Center's headquarters in the holy city of Najaf. The session, which attracted an elite academic audience, was moderated by Dr. Amer Al-Waeli, Director of the Research and Development Department at the Center.
